I’ve always loved the idea of community. In high school, I had a group of friends that I would pal around with all the time, and I loved it. I knew who I belonged with and how I fit in – life was easy.
College was different. It was hard on me. I was living on my own (although my parents were a phone call away) and building new relationships, while also trying to find my place in the world (as a person and in my career). Even after four years in college, there are times when I feel like I’m just wandering around with no real place in the world. The Lord has blessed me with some great friends, but life after college is crazier and bigger than the small crew I hang out with.
I’ve learned to find my peace and understanding in the Lord, trusting Him in my steps – even when I don’t understand or feel extremely lost. It’s not always easy, but after a while of reminding myself to look for His guidance in every situation, I usually find silver linings and blessings in those things I may never fully understand. I’ve come to realize that even if life isn’t going as I imagine or if it seems to be going in the complete opposite direction I planned, it really doesn’t matter as long as I am following the Lord’s guidance. He creates our path and is taking care of things, he could be teaching us a simple lesson or just building faith – but He is going before us. Don’t forget that, even in the confusing and lost times.
The Simply Beloved has come at such a beautiful time in my life. I recently received a full-time job doing something that is not remotely close to what I want to do, but I need the job. At this same time, I’ve been blessed to become a part of this team and community. Producing work and ideas for a group of women that I believe in gives me a glimpse of the job I dream of. Beyond that, I love what this ministry is about –building community for women. I love the simple ideas they have expounded on, such as prayer requests and devotions and creating We the Free real-life groups. It’s amazing and wonderful to watch and be apart of.
So if you are new here, I hope you just jump in and join the community, or if you’ve been watching from the sidelines, know that the heart of everyone in this group is to make you feel loved and encouraged through Christ’s love. We are from all over the world, and we are working to create a connected group of women that can support each other daily. Know you are loved and prayed for, even if we don’t know your name – you are prayed for and God sees you and cares for you.
